Every Sunday, people flock to the KR Market to buy fresh flowers – mostly for temple offerings, or for women to wear in their hair. The markets are a riot of colour as women sit threading flowers onto long garlands and men make columns of flowers for weddings. Flowers are sold by weight. We worried about what they would do with all of the leftover flowers but apparently by three o’clock in the afternoon there is nothing left.
